On behalf of the RAIS faculty and staff, we extend our warm wishes to you and your families as we proceed to our exciting second school year. We hope we will all have a successful school year ahead.
Here is a recap of our progress in August. We had a great time preparing for the new school year after the long summer holiday. In this school year, our school opens 6 classes: Dinosaur, Puppy, Joey, Pony, Piggy and Mickey. We decorated all the classes beautifully to welcome all the parents and students.
In the first month, the weekly themes includes: Back to school, Class rules and routines, Class name, Who I am. All the students have been settled in very well in the class and started to get involved in the classroom activities happily. Each theme introduces new vocabulary, explores new math concepts, and engages in various science, art, music, and social activities. In this school year, we added 2 more activities in our weekly schedule: Morning exercise and Weekly assemble. At the beginning the children were a bit surprised at the microphone, the speakers, the music and the dance at the foyer in the morning where we all join in together to warm up the day. Now they are getting used to with it and their confidence is being built up. The older children joined in the exercise with joy and the smaller groups start moving to the music. Weekly Assemble is also the activity that all the children are waiting for every Friday afternoon. They all tried hard the whole week to be the star of the week and feel very proud of themselves to receive it or show it to their parents. Penn 4 and 5 group will start “Show and tell” activity that will help children to build up their confidence in presenting in front of the audience and level up their speaking skill. Children will bring something from home such as their favorite toys, pictures, photos, etc to show and tell friends and teachers. Please see your child’s timetable so you can help to prepare for the activity in advance.
Parking during drop off and pick up time: Please be noticed that you don’t have to pay to park your motorbike or car within 30 minutes for picking up and dropping off your child.
Authorised people’s photos: We are building a system to ensure safe pick up and drop off for Rosemont’s children. Parents can help us do this by sending 2 photos of each parent and authorised person to your child’s class teacher. Thank you for your cooperation.
Independence Day: School will be closed for Monday 2nd September, 2019, and starts again on Tuesday, 3rd September. Wish you and your family a long good weekend!
Mid-Autum Festival: We will organise activity for this event on 13 September. Details about the event will be sent to the parents in the coming letter.
Look forward to sending you our monthly newsletters. We will always have good news to share!
With much joy,
Betsi Van Zyl
